The dissertation research is devoted to clarification of intertextuality as a world-modeling factor of esthetic system of S. Krzhizhanovsky’s small prose, based on material of the short stories books «Skazki dlya vunderkindov» (1918–1925), «Chem lyudi mertvy» (1926–1933), «Neukushennyj lokot’» (1927–1941) and «Mal mala men’she» (1937–1940). In the research the system of pretexts of the writer’s novelty, which are revealed at the explicit and implicit levels of realization, is classified. For the first time the own strategy of the advanced intertextual analysis of an art text is embodied, considering the need of inclusion in sight of a literary research a paradigm of both the historical reality and reality, that is modern to the author, as an element of dialogue of cultures. Substantial content of S. Krzhizhanovsky’s small prose from the point of view of intertextuality is catalogued, that becomes an attempt of creation of the thesaurus of intertextual images, motives and plots in the author’s creativity. In the dissertation constants of genesis-typological structure of S. Krzhizhanovsky’s prose intertextuality are revealed and considered: literary, philosophical pretexts, mythopoetic, folklore, legendary-theistic components, intermedial art elements, and also historical sources, artifacts of an information field, topos and locus of art space. Besides, the functions of intertextuality in S. Krzhizhanovsky’s small prose are found out. There are appellative, phatic, meta-textual and other functions. The game one is allocated as the main function. The strategies of contamination and modification of heterogeneous polycultural material as bases for creation of individual-author’s art model of the world are analysed. In the research, it is proved that creative transformation of the pretextual elements becomes the advanced distinctive feature of S. Krzhizhanovsky’s creativity, who in every possible way reinterprets and at the same time continues to develop the previous cultural achievements of different times and folks. Сrossing and creative transformation of many world traditions act as striking style trait of writer’s intellectual prose, that allows to define intertextuality as a world-modeling factor of prose of S. Krzhizhanovsky.
