Essay

In the dissertation the theoretical analysis of the research problem, the psychological content and the structure of the phenomenon «professional «I-concept» of the future medical workers» are established. The criteria are defined (students’ awareness of themselves as future medical workers, their self-assessment as future specialists in the medical sphere, the attitude of students towards themselves as medical workers in the future, self-regulation and self-control of their own behavior in professional situations), indicators and levels (high, medium, low) the formation of a professional «I-concept» of students of medical colleges. Empirically revealed features and psychological (development of professional consciousness, the attitude of students to future professional activity, the ratio of their real perceptions of themselves as future medical professionals with the ideal, the place of professional orientation in the student’s motivational field, the desire for professional self-realization, the importance of the chosen profession, relevance and the significance of professional self-identity) and social (vocational education, the prestige of the profession of medical worker in a society, its social the position in society, attitudes to health workers in society) factors of formation of professional «self-concept» students of medical colleges. The effectiveness of the author’s program of psychological support for the development of the professional «I-concept» at the students of medical colleges has been proved.
