In the dissertation the problem of formation of readiness of the future teacher of musical art for self-development in the process of vocal-choral education is investigated. The concept of "readiness of the future teacher of musical art for self-development in the process of vocal-choral learning" is concretized, theoretical and practical aspects of the formation of this phenomenon are revealed. The efficiency of forming the readiness of the future teacher of musical art for self-development in the process of vocal-choral training is proved in conditions of introduction of the experimental technique that provides the dynamics of the levels of the researched readiness from low to high. The developed methodology is aimed at the versatile intellectual and creative development of students, the formation of their ability to permanent self-education throughout life. This technique consists of three stages: cognitive-evaluative, constructive-developing, creative-performing, which are of a variable nature. The generalization of the results of the introduction of the experimental methodology into the practice of art universities in Ukraine and China made it possible to determine the pedagogical conditions for forming the readiness of the future teacher of musical art for self-development in the process of vocal-choral education. The practical result of the introduction of the developed and tested methodology for forming the readiness of the future teacher of musical art for self-development in the process of vocal-choral education is the positive dynamics of growth of all structural components of the studied pedagogical phenomenon, which gives grounds to note the expediency and the prospects of its application for improving the professional training of future teachers of musical art in the system of higher musical and pedagogical education.
