The research has actualized the problem of professional training of the future music teacher in order to form the artistic project skills. The paper discloses the essence of the concept "artistic project skills" taking into account the artistic environment of education and musical pedagogical activity of the future music teacher. The artistic design skills have been classified according to their characteristic functions. The structure of artistic design skills is explainedin the context of the professional activity of the future music teacher consisting from operational, organizational, synthesizing, productive and creative components. Thereare determinedthe main methodological approaches and artistic pedagogical principles of artistic project skills formation in the future music teacher during studying of professional courses. The possibilities of the educational process of musical pedagogical faculties have been revealed in order to attract students to artistic project activities. The paper offers an organizational methodological model for the formation of artistic project skills for the future music teachers, which consists of four blocks: theoretical-methodological, project-technological, formative and evaluating monitoring. It is developed the methodology for the artistic project skills formation in the future music teachers; the criteria and indicators are determinedfor recognizing of the levels of this phenomenon formation. The author proposes pedagogical conditions, methods, design and practical tasks and appropriate forms of work that take into account the specifics of the artistic project activity of the future music teacher and allow the effective use of project technology in studying of musical and pedagogical disciplines, special courses and pedagogical practice. It is performed the mathematical-statistical verification of the effectiveness of the developed methodology (based on Fisher's and Student's criteria).
