Nagurskyy A. Modification of bitumen from paraffinic residues with rubbers and rubber crumb

The main regularities of the modification process of bitumen produced from the residue of paraffinic oils with rubber crumb and rubbers have been obtained. The effect of operational parameters on the quality indices of the modified bitumen has been investigated.The mechanism of bitumen modification with rubber crumb has been established at low and high temperatures. The experimental results about the physico-chemical characteristics of three-component compositions bitumen : linseed oil : SBS rubber and bitumen : linseed oil : rubber crumb may be used for the production of cold applied roll roofing and insulating materials. The schematic flowsheet to produce modified bitumen and bitumen compositions of special application was proposed.
