Parkheta L. Medical insurance and its role in financial securement of the healthcare system in Ukraine

The dissertation is devoted to deepening of the theoretical foundations of medical insurance, revealing directions of its development as a source of health financing in Ukraine, as well as introduction of insurance medicine. The theoretical approaches to the interpretation of the concepts of "health insurance" and "budget financing" are generalized. The theoretical principles of the functioning of medical insurance are considered. The history of development and formation of medical insurance in Ukraine is researched. The principles of organization and methods of financial provision of health care in Ukraine are determined. The socio-demographic and economic factors of development of medical insurance are analyzed. The role of voluntary medical insurance in the strengthening of the financial basis of health care institutions is determined. The basic problems on the way of introduction of insurance medicine in the country are revealed. Recommendations on the development of health insurance and the introduction of compulsory health insurance as a source of financing health care in the country are developed.
