Yakubenko I. Means of Actual Division of Complex Subordinate Sentence in Modern German: Semantic-Pragmatic Aspect

This thesis focuses on studying the means of actual division of complex subordinate sentence in Modern German via semantic and pragmatic analysis of its functioning in contemporary German fiction and reconstruction of models of theme and rheme organization of complex subordinate sentences. Reconstructed models show up not only the theme and rheme structure of the analysed sentences but also the content of communicative situations where they function. Semantic and pragmatic interpretation of complex subordinate sentence with the help of reconstructed models enables to reveal the interconnection between mental structure of the complex subordinate sentence and its illocutionary force as well as pragmatic intention.
