Essay

The thesis is a study of integral formation of the concept of the national past in Ukrainian literature of the late XIX – early XX century. In this paper, articulate features national and mythological critical and rhetorical concept of the past, defined by their typological dominant, leading aesthetic characteristics and methods of implementation of these concepts in dramatic works Lyudmyla Starytska-Cherniakhivska, Spyrydon Cherkasenko, Ivan Mykytenko, Myroslav Irchan, plays-agite. Summarizes the most revealing phenomena and trends concept of the past, which are reflected in the works of Ukrainian playwrights, literary-critical publications, discussions. On the material of literary criticism, as well as the analysis of artistic works of the 1920-30s, it was determined that the typology of the formation of historical content in the sociocultural and aesthetic practices of the time of the Shuttle Revival can be characterized as evaluatively negative and critical. The negation of the past experience as productive and positive was due to the need to squeeze the memories of Ukrainianity as a whole nation into the periphery of the collective historical memory and replace them with new socio-cultural and historical identities – a new man, a revolutionary hero, a builder of the future, a representative of the proletariat.
