Essay

In the dissertation the actual scientific and applied problem is solved which consists in the developing of the methods and models of ensuring the availability of radio systems equipment. The developed models and methods allow to increase the efficiency of operation and maintenance of the radio systems by the reduction of operational expenditures while providing the appropriate level of system availability. For the first time, the mathematical models of the operation and maintenance process of a non-redundant and redundant equipment of a continuously tested radio systems are developed which, in opposite to the known ones, allow to take into account the impact of the revealed, unrevealed, and intermittent failures on the system availability under arbitrary failure distributions. The developed models allow the evaluation of the operation and maintenance process efficiency for both infinite and finite time interval. The methods for assessing total operational expenditures during the warranty and post-warranty period of service are improved. The methods allow to determine the optimal operational redundancy and the number of spare parts for the case of maximizing the average availability with a restriction on the operating costs and for the case of minimizing the operating costs with a restriction on the average availability. The results of dissertation can be used in the design, operation and maintenance of radio systems.
