The dissertation is devoted to the study of the filtration drying regularities of shredded sunflower stems for the alternative solid biofuels production. The hydrodynamic peculiarities of the thermal agent motion through the porous structure of the layer have been studied, obtained results have been presented in the form of dimensionless complexes. The heat-mass transfer and intra-diffusion mass transfer of the moisture from particles of shredded sunflower stems have been experimentally investigated, and the results have been presented in the form of criterion equations. The results of studying the kinetics of the filtration drying have been presented. The optimal parameters of the process, in particular the temperature and rate of the heat agent, as well as the material layer height have been determined. The optimum value of the final moisture content of shredded sunflower stems has been determined, under which the difference between the cost of filtration drying of wet raw materials and the caloricity of fuel briquettes would be maximal. The mechanical characteristics of the pilot batch of briquettes made of shredded sunflower stems have been presented. The principal scheme of the filtration dryer of shredded sunflower stems has been developed and protected by the patent of Ukraine on the utility model.
