Essay

The object is V. Yaroshenko’s creativity, poetry represented in certain publications such as a collection “Svitotin” (Light and Shade) (1918) and “Luny” (Moons) (1919), a collection of selected works “Step” (Steppe) (1968); flash fiction – a collection of short stories “Kryminalna Khronika” (Criminal News) (1927), a novel “Hrobovyshche” (Graveyard) (1928) and an unpublished play “Shpana” (Hooligans) (the manuscript is preserved in the theater “Berezil”); the aim is to find out the specifics of the problems and the main features of the poetics of V. Yaroshenko's creativity, its components; methods – biographical, psychological, hermeneutic, structural and semiotic, archetypal criticism; novelty – first, V. Yaroshenko’s creative heritage has been systematized, comprehensively and holistically studied through the prism of poetics in the Ukrainian literature studies. The typology of the writer’s lyrical subject has been improved; new dimensions in the literary discourse of studying the poet’s lyrics have been found, its dominant motifs, key images, most of which have remained unnoticed by researchers, have been analyzed in the thesis. The writer's works, which have been neglected in the literature for a long time, which caused difficulties for understanding V. Yaroshenko’s creative personality and his place in the history of the Ukrainian literature, have been introduced in the scientific circulation; results – the materials can be used for the further study of V. Yaroshenko's creativity; for the theoretical understanding of the literary problems related to the study of the leading motifs and stylistic achievements of the Ukrainian literature of the affected period; for the development of theoretical and practical courses on the history of the Ukrainian literature of the XXth century, as well as for making teaching aids; field – philology.
