Essay

The object is the cultural and ontological content of the phenomenon of love in the religious-philosophical achievement of the Eastern Orthodox spiritual heritage. The purpose is the historical and philosophical reconstruction of metaphysical foundations and landmark cultural and ontological definitions of love in the legacy of V. Solovyov and S. Frank in the context of the Eastern Orthodox spiritual tradition, and the conceptualization of the concept of active love in the teachings of these outstanding religious thinkers. The methods are the unity of historical and logical, comparative, paradigmatic, dialectical, dialogical, structural, phenomenological, hermeneutic, existential. It is proved that love is a manifestation of the essence of Absolute in the human soul, the state of movement in the metaphysical sphere of being. It is shown that love is a united experience of being and its improvement. According to V. Solovyov and S. Frank, the metaphysics of love is that love gives a person the opportunity to be present in the earthly world and in the divine world at the same time. It is established that active love is a special metaphysical state of soul, which originates from the transcendental region of the Absolute, and leads to the emergence of moral aspirations to the act of good for another person; it is based on respect for another person and on the recognition of its uniqueness and individuality. It is concluded that the doctrine of active love includes elements of various philosophical meanings: ethics (active love inspires man to make good for another), the philosophy of the act (it includes the act of action that leads to the transformation of an individual and all society as a whole), the ontology of culture (it is aimed at realizing the idea of good in the world, it combines love-agape, love-philia, love-eros, love-storge), etc. Active love is a life-giving source of Christian energy, an active creative force. This is love-empathy, compassion. Therefore, the task of this love is based on the verb «to give». Sphere is the educational process.
