Rudnyk I. Genre and Style Specificities of Flash Fiction by Dniprova Chaika

The thesis is the integral research of Dniprova Chaika’s works. The submitted thesis defines the role of the writer in the literary process at the end of the XIXth – the beginning of the XXth centuries. General review of Dniprova Chaika’s literary practice is carried out on the basis of elucidation of biographic, social and cultural factors that influenced the author’s literary formation and the formation of her world outlook and aesthetic orientations. For the first time the state of the studies of writer’s heritage in literary criticism is examined. Special attention is given to a complex analysis of the flash fiction genres. The periods of works’ creation are traced as well as their ideological and thematic diversity, lexical and stylistic features are determined. Due to traditional and innovative aspects of Dniprova Chaika’s prose, her individual creative manner and style features, the evolution of author’s artistic development is noted.
