Essay

The thesis analyzes the evolution of the aesthetic and theoretical and literary reception of mass and elite literature in a holistic way and systematically for the first time, and traces the peculiarities of the dynamics of artistic interpretations and its criteria. The study of artistic nature made on the material of Ukrainian novels at the beginning of the 21st century provides an opportunity to solve the problems of some scientific concepts and hypotheses that covered the functioning of literary hierarchies and to characterize the main criteria for the distinction between modern mass and elite literature. The main genre-style features of contemporary artistic prose, components of artistic of adventure and love metagenres, as well as contemporary historical novels are elucidated.Further development of approaches to the study of the principles of constructing narratives in modern mass literature and the discursive principles of the narrative structure of elite prose has been acquired.
