Essay

Complex and contradictory processes of globalization of economy, development of information technologies, growth of volumes of international transactions and network interactions substantially modify modern competitive relations in the direction of expanding the boundaries of markets, facilitating their entry into them, reducing the life cycle of goods, and deepening commodity differentiation. This leads to increased competition between firms, the diversification of strategies and methods of competition. Global transformation of economic relations, ways of forming monopoly power in markets with imperfect competition, growth of the role and importance of non-price competitive methods such as commodity differentiation, improvement of the quality of goods and services, improvement of pre- and post-sale customer service, active use of advertising and other means of informing and consumers' persuasion sharpens the need for a theoretical analysis of these new phenomena and processes, the development of methodological foundations for the study of patterns and contradictions and the development of modern competitive relations to develop and implement innovative competitive strategies of businesses, increasing the efficiency of social production and improve living standards. Investigation of non-price methods of competition of firms in the conditions of globalization acquires important theoretical and practical significance for solving problems of increasing the competitiveness of the national economy. Successful integration of Ukraine into the world and European economic space is impossible without improving the state regulation of competitive relations, developing and implementing an effective state antimonopoly policy, ensuring the protection of economic entities and consumers against the unlawful use of non-price methods of competition and preventing their negative social and economic consequences. Thus, the relevance of the research of non-price methods of competition in the modern market economy, the theoretical and practical significance of revealing the features and patterns of their development and regulation in the conditions of globalization with the aim of providing post-crisis modernization of the Ukrainian economy have caused the choice of the topic and structure of the dissertation.
