In the thesis the essence of economic, ecological and social functions of agricultural lands is revealed and the conceptual approach to their estimation is grounded. The conceptual approach to the selection of indicators for the assessment of the essential features of the economic, ecological and social functions of agricultural land and the identification of factors that may influence their assessment is developed. An in-depth view of the evaluation of the functions of agricultural land as a process of applied nature is in-depth. The methodical approach to the evaluation of economic and ecological functions of agricultural land, in particular land with perennial plantations, is proposed. The methodical approach to determining the amount of compensation in assessing the degradation of ecological functions of land is developed. An improved methodological approach to the assessment of land functions for the purpose of introduction and management of organic agriculture.
