Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of the concept JOURNEY objectification in Modern Greek linguoculture on the basis of poetical discourse (XX century) as a mediator between text and life. The topicality of the research lies in the deep mythopoetic roots of journey idea as intercultural unit in the consciousness of certain ethnic groups and the whole humankind. The novelty of the research is determined by the comprehensiveness of the concept JOURNEY study in Modern Greek poetry of the XX century. For the first time the core-peripheral structure of the concept JOURNEY in Modern Greek poetry is patterned, in particular its verbalization at the beginning, middle and the end of the XX century; cross functional scenarios of the idea under study are discovered. The research distinguishes conceptual, figurative, axiological and associative layers of the mental unit under study in Modern Greek linguistic culture. Basing on the lexical, stylistic, syntactic means, the study determines the cognitive features of concepts that represent journey and its components, in particular the ways of realization of possible journey trajectories, the idea of path, obstacles, purpose, preconditions of a journey and character of the subject’s movement. It provides a holistic view of the structure and nature of verbalization of concept JOURNEY in Modern Greek poetry of the XX century. The research has a practical value. The basic results of the study can be used in the development of lectures and teaching of theoretical courses "Cultural linguistics", "Country Studies Through Language", "Stylistics", "Poetics", special courses "Cognitive Linguistics", "Linguistic analysis of the text" "Modern Greek poetry". The results of the study can be used in the organization of teaching and methodological work and further development of the Modern Greek language and conceptual picture of the world.
