Pushkaruk I. Family as a factor of the development of father’s identity of a man.

The dissertation presents a comprehensive psychological and pedagogical justification of the phenomena of paternity and father’s identity. The description of development stages of father’s identity of a man, which involves the assimilation of patterns of father’s behavior, the formation of sexual and gender identity, the differentiation of the sexual and fatherhood areas, physiological fatherhood, the transformation of relations between partners as future parents, actualization of father’s feelings, father’s identity as a whole entity, is made. The leading mechanism of the development of father's identity of a man is described and a complex of ways of optimization of the development process of father's identity of a man is systematized. On the basis of the author's six-level model of focal psychocorrection and psychotherapeutic work, an experimental "Program for optimization of development process of father's identity of a man" has been developed; the effectiveness of its application has been verified and argued.
