Essay

The dissertation deals with the definition of the specifics of social orphanhood arising from the labor migration of Ukrainians. It covers the main conceptual approaches to the study of migration and social orphanhood in sociological discourse; formulates a set of theoretical foundations that makes up the basis of the dissertation. The definitive analysis of the main concepts such as "labor migration", "social orphanhood", "social orphans", "children of labor migrants" is made and defined by the author; the system signs of Ukrainian labor migration of the present are revealed; the author's concept of social orphanage in the context of transnational migration with its main types is introduced. The empirical experiment in analyzing the consequences for the children of labour migrants is described. The dissertation presents the results and theinterpretation of the author's empirical research under the topic of the dissertation. Based on this, the dissemination of hidden social orphanage in the context of the fourth wave of Ukrainian labor (transnational) migration is substantiated.
