Antoshchuk T. The evolution of semantic features of architectural forms of the Ukrainian Romanticism (at the end of the 19th - the beginning of the 20th century)

The dissertation analyzes foreign and domestic studies of national romanticism in the architecture of the 19th and early 20th centuries, features of national romanticism in European architecture are systematized, and feature of the development of nationalistic manifestations in the architecture of Ukraine at the end of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The method of the study of nationalistic manifestations in the architecture of Ukraine as a style and its evolution on the basis of existing methods of studying styles in architecture is determined; the terminological apparatus of the research has been improved. The semantic and morphological analysis of Ukrainian romanticism is carried out: the location of objects in the construction of settlements, the compositional construction of objects of Ukrainian romanticism at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, and elements bearing the morphological features of the style. The features of regional centers of Ukrainian romanticism at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century are determined. The evolution of semantic features of architectural forms of Ukrainian romanticism and its revival in the work of V. Chepelyk was traced. The main stages of the development of Ukrainian romanticism and prospects for the development of Ukrainian romanticism in the modern architecture of Ukraine are determined.
