The thesis is one of the first scientific monographic investigations devoted to solving theoretical and practical issues of criminal liability for bribing a person who provides public services. The thesis substantiates the existence of international-legal, historical and socio-legal grounds for establishing criminal liability for bribing a person who provides public services. The detailed description of the objective, subjective and qualifying features of this crime is given. The criminal-law liability measures for this crime commission envisaged by the legislation are investigated. As a consequence of the investigation, it was established that the current wording of article 368-4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Bribing a person who provides public services" contains significant shortcomings that offset its potential in countering corruption.
