Essay

The thesis deals with theoretical and methodical development and experimental verification of the formation method of German-speaking strategic competence in receptive types of speech activity in future doctors. Substantiation and elaboration of author’s methodology was performed based on the following approaches: communicative activity, personal activity, competence, integration, which are specified in the principles: communicative orientation of teaching, cognitive and intellectual orientation, comprehensive teaching of receptive types of speech activity, dominant role of exercises, authenticity of educational materials, taking into account the individual characteristics of students, professional orientation of teaching the foreign language communication. According to the results of scientific and methodical literature analysis, it has been proved that German-speaking professional communication of receptive types of speech activity in future doctors includes: reading of specific medical texts to learn foreign language material for further mastering of foreign language and obtaining of new information for professional self-development and advanced training; obtaining of instructional information on drug use, etc.; understanding of audible informative monologic speech to get information and acquire professional knowledge and to improve their own professional level; understanding of factual audible dialogic speech within the communication ranges between a physician and patients in order to impose and use the means and strategies of influence on patients in their own professional activities. Speech in dyad, a patient – a doctor is characterized by frequent switching of register codes – spoken and scientific, is asymmetric, and therefore causes considerable difficulties in its effective implementation.
