Essay

Object: language`s imperative organization in preaching communication of Patriarch Filaret of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyivan Patriarchate in religious Orthodox discourse. Objective: the complex analysis of lingvopragmatic peculiarities of using, functioning and pragmatic effect of imperative speech acts of the Preacher in contemporary Orthodox religious discourse. Methods: descriptive method; categorical analysis; component analysis; context analysis; structural method; distributive analysis; functional method; reception of internal interpretation; discourse analysis; content analysis; transactional analysis; intent-analysis. Scientific novelty: the practical discursive functioning of language have been anylazed in religious discourse, and also – lingvopragmatic specificity of the imperative modality in the religious Orthodox environment; an actual speech preaching organizm of contemporary religious Orthodox discourse on the material of preaching communication of Patriarch Filaret of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyivan Patriarchate has been complexly analyzed; the religious taxonomy of the imperative based on the principle of physical light dispersion has been created; the dispersive structure of religious imperative pragmems has been developed; religious preaching speech acts have been analyzed based on 12 linguistically significant parameters by J. Searle; methods and techniques of the addresser’s religious linguistic manipulation of the laity’s consciousness have been determined; expediency of involving related branches in lingvistic studying the religious discourse on the example of the addresser’s communication passport has been justified; methodology of the researches on religious speech acts has been improved; theoretical provisions on the essence of the imperative mood and its stratification have been further developed. Practical value: the obtained research findings can be used for further linguistic, scientific pragmatic and homiletic researches through the prism of religious discourse as well as during lectures on lingvopragmatics, Ukrainian confessional stylistics, the basics of the theory of linguistic communication, theology, etc. The research findings can be used for the purpose informing society about lingvopragmatic methods and techniques of manipulating their religious consciousness, which subordinates all social institutions.
