Essay

The object of the research – the processes of growth, development of plants, the formation of crop yield and grain quality of spring barley under the influence of predecessors, mineral fertilizers and biopreparations. The purpose and objectives of the research were to identify the agro-biological features of spring barley and to substantiate the necessity of developing the effective technological measures for its cultivation, aimed at increasing the adaptability of plants to adverse environmental conditions, taking into account the variability of weather factors, genotype of the variety, its reaction to the use of micro- and macronutrients, biopreparations and the establishment of economically expedient doses, methods and terms of their application depending on the predecessor (winter wheat, corn) in the conditions of Northern Steppe of Ukraine. Research methods. Experiments were planned and conducted in accordance with the methodology of the research B. O. Dospekhov (1985) and according to generally accepted scientific methods; visual and measure and weight methods were used for phenological observations and determination the biometric indices of plants; biochemical – to determine the quality of grown products; economic – to determine the economic efficiency of the investigated factors; statistical – to establish the reliability of the obtained results. Results: the optimal parameters of the elements of spring barley growing technologies are recommended, which promote the most complete realization of the genetically determined variety potential in the conditions of the Northern Steppe of Ukraine and ensure the formation of grain yield over 3,5 t/ha with a profitability of 98,9 %. The industrial check of scientific development was carried out at the Erastivka Research Station of the SE Institute of Grain Crops of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and implementation were carried out in farms of different forms of ownership of Dnipropetrovs’k, Piatyhatky, Krynychky, Verkhniodniprovs’k and Sofiivka districts of Dnipropetrovs’k oblast on an area of more than 1,2 thous. hectares. A significant increase in the crop yield of spring barley grain out of the use of recommended for production the agricultural technological measures was 0,43 t/ha with a significant reduction in the prime cost and increased profitability. Fielf of use: agriculture.
