Syniehub Y. The formation of Ukrainian sociological terminology

In this work are described the basic stages of formation in Ukrainian sociological terminology. This investigation is the first attempt in the Ukrainian literary language to study semantic and structural peculiarities of sociological terminology. The main tendencies of its word-formation and productive structural types of Ukrainian sociological terms are described. The many-sided consideration of the terminological materials has allowed to find out regularities of formation of the Ukrainian sociological terminology and ways of enriching the analysed terminology. In the dissertation the theoretical aspects of study of terminology are exposed іn the Eastern Slavonic linguistics. Such basic concepts “term”, “terminology” and “terminological system” are certain. The section of dissertation highlights and analyzes nine semantic groups for the designation of sociological names.The notion of lexical-semantic and sematic is distinguished. The sociological terms denote elements, attitudes and features. They can be divided into a number of generalized thematic names of categorical scientific concepts: phenomena, processes, attributes, properties and abilities. The selectic thematic groups of te studied terms are the most typical representatives of systematic ordering Ukrainian terminological units, whose meaningful categorization is subordinated to the general laws of the language.
