Object – complex constructions with a cause-subordinate clause; aim – to determine the peculiarities of functional-stylistic organization and communicative-pragmatic implementation of complex constructions with a cause-subordinate clause in the Ukrainian fiction prose of the1990s and early 21st century; methods – linguistic observation, descriptive-analytical, continuous sampling, classification, quantitative calculation, constructive, pragmatic, structural-semantic, semantic-stylistic, speech acts analyses; novelty – the first time when there collected and summarized the material that gives grounds to study structural-semantic, functional-stylistic and communicative-pragmatic peculiarities of the implementation of complex structures with a cause-subordinate clause in the texts of the Ukrainian fiction prose of the 1990s and the beginning of the 21stcentury; results – the materials of the research can be used in teaching the courses “Syntax of modern Ukrainian literary language”, “Stylistics of modern Ukrainian language”, “Communicative linguistics” and “Linguistic pragmatics”; they can be used in research papers from the relevant branches of science, involved in writing textbooks, manuals and other educational and methodological literature on syntax, stylistics, communicative and pragmatic linguistics; field – philology.
