The dissertation is devoted to the analysis of optimization of psychological adaptation of students from distant families to the conditions of studying in institutions of higher education. The dissertation analyzes theoretical and methodological principles of studying psychological adaptation; describes its periods, factors and conditions; The adaptation complex and its structure in the aggregate of emotional, cognitive-reflective, motivationally-volitional and behavioral components are characterized, the connection between the individual-psychological characteristics of students from distant families and adaptation is determined. The program for optimizing the psychological adaptation of students from a distant family to the conditions of study in higher education institutions was developed and experimentally tested. The recommendations to the subjects of the educational process concerning optimization of psychological adaptation to the conditions of studying in institutions of higher education are substantiated.
