Essay

The Thesis provides a theoretical and methodological analysis of the professional competence of future lawyers. The professional competence is considered as a result of the educational process and psychological and pedagogical issue. The structure of professional competence of future lawyers is singled out which includes the following components: substantive, motivational and value, ethical and deontological, reflective and estimative, communicative and regulatory. The following criteria of future lawyers’ future professional activity are determined: substantive, motivational and value, ethical and deontological, reflective and estimative, communicative and regulatory which directly correlate to the interconnected components of the researched phenomenon. The model is elaborated for the purpose of optimization of the future lawyers’ professional competence formation. The components of the elaborated model of the professional competence formation include: 1) objective and methodological complex (objective, task, methodological approaches and principles of the professional competence formation); 2) methodological and formational complex (syllabus, forms, means, methods, stages of the professional competence formation; 3) diagnostically effective complex (criteria, levels, result). On the basis of the results of the theoretical and empirical research the system of psychological and pedagogical conditions for the formation of professional competence of future lawyers is defined: integration of the latest educational technologies into the process of training future lawyers; comprehensive motivation of students' educational activity in the process of studying educational disciplines; attention to the peculiarities of professional self-knowledge of future lawyers; taking into account teachers' level of development of psychological components of professional competence and formation of professional qualities in future lawyers; attention to the formation of reflexive and meta cognitive abilities of students. The scholarly novelty of the obtained results is constituted by the fact that the Thesis provides the theoretical model of the future lawyers professional competence formation at higher educational institutions, the structural components of which are as follows: substantive, motivational and value, ethical and deontological, reflective and estimative, communicative and regulatory; the Thesis provides the determination, grounding and experimental verification of the psychological and pedagogical conditions of the future lawyers’ professional competence formation; the criteria are presented, the levels of its formation in the process of studying at the higher educational institutions; the program of the future lawyers’ professional competence formation is suggested and verified. Practical meaning of the Thesis is constituted by the development of the program of the professional competence formation in the process of the future lawyer training at the higher educational institutions. Theoretical provisions and empirical data as to the lawyers professional competence formation and conditions of its formation may be used in the process of teaching the subjects “Legal Deontology”, “Legal Psychology”, “Age-Specific Psychology”, “General Psychology”, “Psychology of Personality”, etc. The perspectives are determined of the future studies or this phenomenon.
