Sydorenko L. Poetics of Contemporary Ukrainian Metadrama.

This thesis analyses poetics of contemporary Ukrainian metadrama in the context of genre and style dynamics of literature scene of the 1990–2000-s.The scientific work consists of introduction and four chapters with separate paragraphs, conclusions and bibliography of literature sources. The first chapter underlines rationale for theoretical and methodological basis of the thesis. Further, phenomena of metadrama and self-reflection of literature are being analysed. Intertextuality of contemporary literature works in the light of cultural links, authorial myths modelling, reinforcement of philosophical, intellectual value of contemporary drama is being researched. In the fourth chapter strategies of self-reflection represented by literature of «generation X» (according to classification offered by Nadiya Miroshnichenko) are being investigated. It has been found, that «generation X» is self-aware as a cultural community. This is evidenced by self-intertextuality techniques, elements of autobiographism, creation of authorial myth and distinctiveness of meta-concepts. The essential research trends are being emphasised as follows: study of contemporary writings in the comprehensive drama context, investigation of its dynamics’ peculiarities and mechanisms of change; emphasis on typological similarities of two turns of the century; specification of contemporary literature for the scene in the scope of transitional thinking and synergy; unification of variety of aspects – by genre, style, myth and poetry, intertextuality; broad selection of texts is also structured according to theory of generations’ angle.
