Pryzhbylo O. Impulsive crime: criminological issues of study and prevention.

The dissertation is the first in Ukraine comprehensive criminologycal research of impulsive crimes, their mechanism and determinants, persons who commit impulsive crimes and measures for their prevention. The dissertation is devoted to criminological research of impulsive crime. Impulsive behavior is considered as a psychological basis of impulsive crimes. As a result of the differentiation of impulsive and volitional crimes, on the basis of analysis of legal and psychological scientific literature, as well as after analysis of the empirical basis of the research, characteristic features of impulsive crimes are highlighted and their notion is defined. Classification of impulsive crimes is carried out and their criminal-legal aspectis disclosed. Criminologically significant features of persons committing impulsive crimes are characterized. Determinants of impulsive crimes are established, as well as the stages of their mechanism are revealed. According to the results of the dissertation research, scientifically grounded directions of prevention of impulsive criminality are proposed and problematic issues of prevention are outlined. The victimological aspect of the prevention of impulsive criminality is considered.
