Essay

In the thesis the theoretical analysis of the problem has been made and a new solution has been proposed. It is to find out theoretically and to test experimentally a set of the didactic conditions of formation of the technical students’ cognitive independence in the foreign language learning process. In the thesis the didactic support of formation of the technical university students’ cognitive independence in the foreign language learning process is analyzed. The scientific foundation analysis of the problem reveals that action as an individual integrative quality is a leading condition and the basis for the formation and development of an individual. Action approach is an indispensable condition for education, development and functioning of all individual qualities; and cognitive independence manifests and develops through cognitive action. The following didactic conditions have been singled out: 1) actualization of positive motivation and purposefulness of technical university students toward independent cognitive action; 2) intensification of the positive emotional and volitional attitude of the future engineers toward the independent cognitive action in the study of a foreign language; 3) activation of the educational process of a foreign language learning on the basis of the didactically grounded set of specially prepared tasks necessary for independent creative action fulfillment, oriented on the successful professional action and personal and professional development of technical university students.
