Mysak N. Idenity Formation of Large-Scale Housing Estates Built in the 1960-1980 s.

The thesis is devoted to the study of identity of large-scale housing estates built in 1960-1980s taking into consideration the stages of their (trans-)formation during the change of political, economic, and social contexts. The notion of identity in architecture is redefined for the large-scale housing estates. The alternative model of the architectural identity is based on the concepts of architectural originality, primary and secondary identities. Interdisciplinary methodological model of the research was developed according to the theoretical model. Comparative research of the Ukrainian and Swedish context was made based on the case studies of large-scale housing estates Sykhiv in Lviv and Rosengård in Malmö. Both districts are analyzed on the levels of spatial morphologies, everyday practices and representations. It was made a conclusions regarding the ways of applying the findings on architectural identity in the projects of revitalization of the large-scale housing estates
