Molnar I. Clinical and experimental justification of the terms of execution of bariatric interventions after the application of the intragastric balloon

This dissertation is devoted to the important medical and social problem of modern surgery and health in general, i.e. obesity. The main meaning in this problem is the choice of the optimal method of treatment the obesity. The purpose of this work is to improve the results of surgical treatment of patients with morbid obesity by evaluating the morphological changes of the stomach wall after application of the intragastric balloon. The experimental study of the nature of morphological changes in the wall of the stomach under the influence of the intragastric balloon in 47 laboratory animals and a prospective analysis of treatment of 101 patients with morbid obesity serve as a basis of this work. The obtained results of clinical and experimental research determined the reasonable period of conduction of bariatric interventions after removal of the intragastric balloon. It constitutes at least 14 days.
