Essay

The dissertation is one of the first complex cultural and philosophical studies of visual strategies of contemporary screen culture, that represent the semantic features of the contemporary cultural period. The study of visual strategies allowed to understand profoundly the mechanisms of escapism from existential and everyday problems in mass screen culture, and to substantiate links among the methods of screen art culture and the philosophical methods of existentialism and phenomenology. The work reveals that today is happening active informatization of the screen space. The process is carried out through the aesthetic form, and therefore it leads to loss of the content characteristics of the information. The research discovers that development of screen media and emergence of new screen media made the transition from public to individual screening practice and to individual creativity based on the principles of free exchange and access to information and cultural products.
