Essay

The object of the research is the process of the functioning of an international railway freight traffic system. The research was carried out consistently with the application of mathematical, simulation modelling and correlation and regression methods. To solve the problem of minimization of car total downtime at border-line transfer stations and to reduce the number of possible car delays, a model has been built to determine car reasonable downtime at stations under the conditions of introducing a risk management system that can be integrated into the automated working place of a station duty officer and the automated working place of a train dispatcher.
