Boiko V. Ecological modernization of the system of air protection of the big cities of Ukraine

Object – the process of ecological modernization of air protection system in the cities; the purpose is theoretical and methodological argumentation of scientific-methodic and applied fundamentals of formation of strategic directions and an organizational-economic mechanism of ecological modernization of air protection system in the cities of Ukraine; methods – comparative analysis, statistical analysis, system-structural analysis, logical analysis, economic-mathematical modeling, forecasting, classification; extrapolation and correlation; results – the work argues essence of ecological modernization and importance of air as the main component of a city ecosystem, the research describes and improves methodic approaches to testing of air conditions, particularly the methods for estimation of the degree of its threat and methods of forecasting, the work analyzes problems of air protection in the cities of Ukraine and gives evaluation of its ecological danger in the largest cities, it also provides a deeper investigation of relationship between economic development and load on the environment, as well as considers manifestation of the effect of decoupling for Kyiv city concerning use of fuel energy resources and pollution of natural environment, the research defines three models of anti-crisis management of ecological modernization, it is proposed to create a cluster of ecological modernization as one of the ways to introduce ecological innovations into the system of air protection, the dissertation also supplies proposals concerning improvement of the instruments of an organizational and economic mechanism of ecological modernization of air protection system; novelty – the creation of a cluster of ecological modernization of the system of air protection are proposed, which includes a technopark-core, based on the implementation of ecological innovations aimed at preserving and restoring air quality; implemented in economic practice.
