Essay

The object of the research are performative utterances in German dialogic discourse of the XVIth–XXIst centuries. The subject of the research is historical dynamics of structural/semantic and linguopragmatic properties of performative utterances in the XVIth–XXIst century German dialogic discourse. The aim of the research is to establish the historical dynamics of performative utterances of the XVIth–XXIst century German dialogic discourse, which involves identification of the following: 1) diachronic constant properties of performative utterances that do not change over time, and 2) diachronic variables – properties that are subject to historical dynamics. The following methods are used in the work: general science (observation, description, induction, deduction, introspection) structural-linguistic (lexical/semantic and syntactic analysis); discourse and linguopragmatic (contextual, proposal, presupposition, intentional, speech-activist, explication of implicature, discourse-strategic) comparative analysis; quantitative analysis. The novelty of the research is accounted for by shedding light on the historical dynamics of structural/semantic and linguopragmatic properties of performative utterances in the XVIth–XXIst century German dialogic discourse, in particular, tracing historical changes in the structural models of performative utterances; discovering stable and variable features of the illocutionary potential of performative proper and metacommunicative/performative utterances; detecting perlocutionary properties of metacommunicative/performative utterances in diachrony; elucidating the trends of historical development of implicit speech acts which are realized by performative utterances. The use of historical pragmalinguistics as a methodological basis for studying historical dynamics of performative utterances in German dialogic discourse allowed us to establish their constant and variable properties. The theoretical significance of the dissertation research is determined by the contribution which it makes to the development of the discourse and pragmatic direction in linguistics, in particular in historical pragmalinguistics, discourse, socio- and ethnopragmalinguistics. The practical value of the obtained results and conclusions is conditioned by the possibility of their application in teaching of the courses of theoretical grammar of the German language (section "Pragmatics of the sentence") and the history of the German language (sections "The language of the early Renaissance period", "Language of the new Germanic period"); special courses on pragmalinguistics, in particular, historical, pragmatic syntax and discourse, as well as in scientific researches of students and postgraduates.
