Zhulkanych V. Management of environmental activities in a crossborder region

The thesis is devoted to solving the urgent scientific problem of improving the management of environmental activities in the cross-border region. The dissertation substantiates basic principles on the management of nature use and the sphere of protection and restoration of the environment, and the nature protection area of the cross-border region is considered as an ecological, social and economic system. The analysis of the status of the natural reserve fund of the cross-border region (Transcarpathian region) has been carried out, according to indicators (total number of objects of the nature reserve fund, their area, percentage of reserves, etc.), which characterize the dynamic changes in their state. It has been revealed that the pace of the development of nature reserve fund is less than declared in the program documents. There has been analyzed the state of implementation of regional and crossborder (international) programs of rational management of natural resources and environmental protection measures aimed at ensuring ecologically safe natural state, observance of the combination of socio-economic development of cross-border territories with the principles of sustainable development, technological and environmental safety and introduction of new management standards.
