Having offered the author's vision of legal ideology as an integral system of ideas and views that develop within a specific legal system, evolve under the influence of socio-political and historical conditions and are inherent even for the people of the deprived of their own state, the distinctive features of its development in the right environment of Galicia of the second half are singled out XIX – early XX century. It is argued that legal ideology is a key driver of processes of transformation of social consciousness, the establishment of civil society institutions, and the construction of a social legal state. Feature Galicia late XIX – early XX century. Was that even in the absence of national statehood, three main ideological systems – liberal, socialist, and conservative – were actively developing here. Moreover, they often interact with each other, forming ideological sub-systems of social-democratic, liberal-conservative and even liberal-socialist ideology, which are inherent exclusively for the Ukrainian legal thought. The spread of a liberal type of legal ideology was conditioned by the specificity of the Austro-Hungarian legal system. During the period under investigation, the existence of several ideological and legal currents, which were often confined to liberalism, in particular, «liberal conservatism», was characteristic. The main feature of the political programs of the conservative parties of Galicia was the desire to combine the ideas of «organic labor», the traditional conservatism of the postulates and values with the national idea. Socialism in Galicia developed along the Austrian lines and did not acquire extreme forms of Marxism. The basis of socialist legal ideology was the thesis of the supremacy of public interests over the private and that society should be based on economic and social equality, fair distribution of the product produced. The ideological component became the basis for politicization of the broad sections of the population and the party registration of the main socio-political trends. Its own political party represented each of the analyzed types of legal ideology.
