Ivanova N. Psycho-diagnostics of Masochism in the Process of Depth Psyche Cognition by a Prospective Psychologist.

The dissertation work the ability of the psychodynamic paradigm, in the format on which the method of ACPP used in the dissertation is based, which is able to provide knowledge of the deep causes of masochism, as well as the leveling of its destructive consequences, which affects the personality and professional readiness of the future psychologist to professional activity. The underlying preconditions of the emergence of masochism have been studied in the paper. They are associated with the subject’s oedipal dependencies and their consequences such as guilt, tendencies «towards psychological death», «psychological impotence», «self-deprivation», self-punishment. Masochism is viewed as a paradoxical way of resolving the «uncompleted affairs of childhood», due to the violation of reciprocal relationships with the primary libido objects (parents). The work has revealed the peculiarities of procedural psycho-diagnostics, which is based on the spontaneity of the ASPC, dialogic interaction and interpretation of behavioral material in its totality. The transcripts of diagnostic and corrective work with the prospective psychologists and its structural and semantic analysis serve the evidence base of the thesis. The necessity of depth psycho-correction as an obligatory precondition for the prospective psychologists’ development through revealing destructive tendencies with a masochistic inclination of their psyche has been proved in the study.
