Essay

The paper gives information on the developed technology of manufacturing profiled and flat strips with heterogeneous mechanical properties from aluminum alloys by twin-roll casting with profiling strip. On the basis of the laboratory twin-roll casting unit, a twin-roll casting unit for producing strips with profiled cross-section was designed and manufactured. By inverse analysis of the known experimental data and theoretical calculations was determined values of heat transfer coefficient at the boundary of the metal-tool for the experimental conditions of twin-roll casting. Was theoretically determined influence of the technological parameters on the degree of deformation, outlet speed and outlet temperature of the strips, which were formed without and with profiling strip. Using obtained theoretical data has been developed method of determination of optimal technological parameters of the twin-roll casting for the producing of profiled strips with minimum longitudinal stresses. It has been experimentally determined influence of the profiling strip geometry parameters and the parameters of cold rolling on the formation of longitudinal defect and the formation of variables mechanical properties on the width at rolling in plain rolls of pre-profiled aluminum strips. Dissertation work results are used in the conditions of the JSC Dniprovskiy factory «Alumash», as well as in the educational process at the Department of Metal Forming of the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine and the Department of Materials Science at Paderborn University.
