Essay

The Object: processes of growth, development, and formation of the yield of kohlrabi with different elements of technology and conveyor cultivation and the biological potential of varieties. The Objective: to develop the energy efficient elements of the kohlrabi cultivation in the Left Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The Novelty: the conveyor production of kohlrabi products were newly developed and scientifically substantiated for the conditions of the Left-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine for the first time, the biological ability of varieties to form a high yield level was established, the level of their adaptation to the conditions of the region and the optimal layout of plants were determined. The Results: The potential of varieties, the parameters of their adaptability to the conditions of the Left Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine were determined. It has been established that the yield of kohlrabi of the Snezhana variety and the indicator of daily air temperature average have a strong direct relation: r = -0.96; the amount of precipitation and the hydrothermal index have also the strong direct links: according to r = 0,72 and r = 0,76. The correlation dependencies between yield and leaf area per hectare (r = 0,91) and plant density (r = 0,96) were established. The optimal plant placement patterns were established as (40 + 40 + 60) x 10 and 70 x 10 cm, providing a yield of 26,2 and 21,9 t/ha, respectively. The technology has been developed for the conveyor flow of kohlrabi from the fird decade of June to the third decade of September. The economic viability of its cultivation in the conditions of the Left Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine had been proved. The energy efficiency ratio (1,2-3,6) varies depending on the technological elements under study.
