Logvinenko E. Formation and Development of the Institution of Punishment within the Law of the Ancient World Countries

The dissertation is focused on the comprehensive historical and legal study of the formation and development of the institution of punishment within the law of the ancient world countries; on revealing the regularities and peculiarities of this process. The author has determined theoretical and methodological foundations of the research, has carried out historical and legal analysis of the sources on the specified problem. The author has demonstrated the features of understanding the essence of punishment in the ancient world countries. The characteristic features of the establishment of the institution of punishment and their peculiarities in some states of the Ancient East and the East Mediterranean region of the ancient time have been revealed.
