Essay

The blood loss during the operations on CBT makes up 173 ml as opposed to 97 ml of blood in the studied group. The relative risk of massive intraoperational blood loss during the surgical intervention on carotid body tumor is 1,78 times higher than in cases with other kinds of tumors in the given localization. Herewith the existence of the high correlation between the size of the tumor and the blood loss rate had been established. The application of the offered modifications in surgical intervention on the carotid body tumor statistically reliably allows to reduce the rate of massive intraoperational bleeding and the damage to branches of cranial nerves.
