In the thesis, structural-semantic types and functions of imperative statements in journalistic and officially-business styles are comprehensively investigated. The evolution of views on the nature of the imperative in linguistics is traced, the conceptual and terminology corpus is complete. The main approaches to determining the linguistic status of the imperative in the system of grammatical categories are summarized. The definitions of the value of controllability as the semantic aspect of the imperative are analyzed, the notion of the person of the performer of imperative statements is clarified; The lexical and semantic manifestations of imperativeness in journalistic texts are described, phraseological units with imperative semantics are highlighted, the specificity of the expression of nonverbal meaning of imperativeness in texts of journalistic genres is considered. The stylistic features, genres and subsystems of the official business style are characterized, especially the structure of his utterance in terms of the implementation of grammatical means of expressing the imperative category, predicate valences, the specifics of the distributors in the statement, the relationship of the communicative task and the structural and semantic organization of the sentence, the elements of the communicative situation . The semantic and pragmatic types of incentive statements of the official business style are analyzed.
