Essay

In the dissertation, the complex scientific analysis of the role of civil society institutions in providing information security of the country, taking into account national social and political realia and international experience, has been carried out. The scientific views on the nature of state and social interaction and the place of non-governmental institutions (as integral elements of civil society) in the process of providing information security have been systematized and analyzed. The classical conceptual approaches to the analysis of security policy, and in particular the place of non-governmental institutions in its realization (realism, liberalism, constructivism, critical areas of research in the field of security) have been highlighted. The methodological toolkit has been characterized. Based on it, foreign and Ukrainian practices of involving civil society institutes in counteracting information threats to national security had been researched. As a result of scientific analysis of the specifics of the security dimension of the functioning of civil society it was stated that the system of national security is determined not only by political but also by social factors, which determines its dual nature. Especially this aspect is manifested in the information space, where the role of «non-state component», at least in separate segments, is much more tangible in comparison with the influence of the state, and therefore one can speak about the significance of the influence of society on the state of information security.
