Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of the problem of poetics of memoir prose writers of the Ukrainian diaspora of the second half of the twentieth century. The object of research is the most typical and most representative memoir and autobiographical works of Ukrainian foreign writers. The scientific novelty of the dissertation work is that on the basis of the analysis of non-fiction prose (memoirs, diaries) by Anatol Gak, Stepan Baran, Anatol Galan, Pasha Yemets, E. Zagachevsky, V. Korolyov-Staryi, I. Kosach-Borisova, G. Kostiuk V. Kulisha, Yu. Lavrinenko, T. Osmachky, O. Pashchenko, Y. Rusova, K. Turkala, A. Franko-Klyuchko, V. Franko, Y. Sherekh, E. Shcherbakovskaya, Yar Slavutych, poetics components of the diaspora memorial literature are singled out and characterized: the concept of the world and the hero in the context of opposition to the author’s ideal of absurd medium; the expression of antithetical through the tragic form (the existential of death, the inner conflict of the character), poetics of the literary portrait of I. Franko (A. Franco-Kluchko, V. Franko, Stepan Baran), means of satirical image of reality (portrait, interior, detail, elements of the game (in the works of Anatole Gak,) sociopsihologicheskih dominantes, which are the basis of the structural, semantic and stylistic specificity of the poetic components of the artistry of artists. By understanding various aspects of the artistic skill of memoirists, the cultural process in the Western Diaspora in the sociopsychological and aesthetic sections is objectively evaluated, which broadens the perception of the personality of this or that author, a figurative poetics in a given algorithm. Unidentified pages of the creative heritage of Ukrainian writers are opened in the poetic matrix entering it into the context of contemporary literary criticism.
