Pustovyi O. Criminological principles of prevention of crimes committed by homeless and neglected children in Ukraine

The thesis contains a set of theoretical, methodological and practical questions regarding the criminological characteristics and prevention of crimes committed by homeless and neglected children. Approaches to the definition of homelessness and neglect as negative social and legal phenomena are outlined; the genesis of legal regulation of its prevention in Ukraine and other countries at different periods of time is disclosed. The content and connections of structural elements of the criminological characteristics of crimes committed by homeless and neglected children in Ukraine are identified; determinants of crime and victimization characteristics of victims are also specified. The directions of realization of general social, special-criminological and individual measures for the prevention of crimes committed by the most vulnerable categories of homeless and neglected children are determined. Proposals for amendments and additions to legislation on improving preventive measures aimed at perfecting the effectiveness of prevention of crimes committed by homeless and neglected children.
