Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of the theoretical aspects of secret diplomacy as a phenomenon, as well as the role of secret diplomacy in the realization of foreign policy goals of Germany in the period from 1871 to 1945. Relevance of the topic is intensified by the important role of secret diplomacy in facilitating the settlement of some protracted international conflicts of the second half of the 20th century. In particular, it contributed to the peaceful solution to the Caribbean crisis of 1962, and also with its help, the Oslo agreement of 1993 between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, which temporarily reduced the tensions between the parties, was signed. Consequently, under the condition of in-depth study of secret diplomacy, it can be effectively applied to solve other conflicts of the present day.
