Essay

The thesis presents the first comprehensive comparative pedagogical analysis of the system of actuarial professionals' training in Canada carried out in Ukrainian science. The main educational development trends in systems of specialists' professional training in the 21st century are described; functional responsibilities of an actuary are specified; the basic models underlying actuarial education in the world are singled out. It has been conducted a thorough review of the international and national rules and regulations underlying the complicated process of attaining actuarial credentials in Canada. The peculiar features of university-based actuarial education as well as syllabi, organizational and technological aspects of educational paths proposed by the USA-based actuarial professional bodies - the SOA and CAS together with the Canadian institute of actuaries, the voice of the actuarial profession in Canada, are systematized and specified.
